The U18 Boston Shamrocks finished the regular season 7-4-1 (10-7-1 Overall) to finish in 4th place in the 15 team Premier Hockey League (PHL) Elite Division.  The PHL Playoffs opened Friday night at the Rodman Arena in Walpole, Mass.  The Shamrocks faced the 5th place Boch Conquistadors (11-6-3) in the quarterfinals and came away with a 4-1 win qualifying the team for a semifinal match up on Saturday afternoon against the undefeated first place 495 Stars (10-0-2) who defeated the Mass Bay Shamrocks 5-0 to advance to the semifinals.

Nick Capillo netted a hat trick to lead the Shamrocks past the Stars 5-2 to earn the Shamrocks a trip to the PHL Championship game against the 2nd place, and also undefeated, Barnstable Red Raiders (10-0-2).  Barnstable defeated the Crimson Hockey Club 2-1 and the Wellesley Raiders 7-1 to advance to the Finals.  Behind Capillo's second hat trick in two games, and a penalty shot stopped by goaltender Anthony Giuliano, the Shamrocks went on to defeat the Red Raiders 4-1 to capture the 2017 PHL U18 Elite Championship.

During the playoffs the Shamrocks scored 12 goals while allowing only 4.  The Shamrocks strong defensive play was backed by Gino Desimone, Ryan Donahue, Anthony Nastari, and Will Toomey along with the Shamrocks goal tending tandem of Giuliano and Will Chouinard who combined for a 1.33 GAA in the 3 games.  The Shamrocks scoring was lead by Capillo with 7 goals.  Other Shamrocks' goal scorers were Donahue (2), Max Doucette, Brian Paone, and Nick Salgado.
